Community care

Safety is not an extra feature.

Our community standard

Be honest, direct, and respectful. Ask for consent, accept a no without argument, and respect communication and sensory boundaries. Members must never harass, threaten, impersonate, pressure, exploit, or ask another member for money.

How access works

Members confirm they are 18 or older and self-attest that they are autistic or identify as being on the autism spectrum. We do not ask members to upload diagnosis documents. Paid membership does not guarantee access to discovery: safety review must be completed first.

Reporting and blocking

When matching and chat are opened, every member will be able to block another member immediately and submit a confidential report. Reports will be reviewed by a trained human moderator. Serious concerns may lead to account restriction or removal.

When to seek urgent help

Common Ground cannot provide emergency support. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency service or a trusted person nearby.

What is still being prepared

Identity-review procedures, response times, moderator training, and the final reporting process must be in place before public discovery opens. This page describes the intended standard and must be reviewed by a qualified South African legal and safeguarding professional before launch.
