Member terms

Clear expectations make room for connection.

Who may join

Common Ground is for adults aged 18 or older who self-identify as autistic or as being on the autism spectrum. We do not ask for diagnosis documents. You must provide honest account information, keep your sign-in code private, and use only your own account.

Membership contribution, cancellation, and refunds

Membership is a once-off R50 contribution, not a subscription. Payment does not guarantee acceptance or matching: discovery, matching, and messaging are enabled only after human safety review. If access cannot be provided because we decline membership before activation, contact Sanet privately to discuss the appropriate next step. Once access has been activated, contributions are ordinarily non-refundable except where South African law requires otherwise. We do not offer discount codes at launch. The final launch terms must be reviewed for the applicable Consumer Protection Act and payment-provider requirements.

Respect and consent

Communicate respectfully, honour boundaries, and never pressure another person for photos, meetings, personal information, money, or contact outside the app. Do not post unlawful, abusive, sexually explicit, deceptive, discriminatory, or infringing content. Do not use images of children, personal contact information, or images of another person without permission.

Safety and meeting offline

Keep conversations in the app until you feel comfortable. Make your own decisions about what to share, choose public places for first meetings, tell someone you trust where you are going, and arrange your own transport. Never send money, financial details, or verification codes to another member. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Moderation and fair process

We use human review for membership safety checks, reported content, and photo review. We may limit visibility, remove content, suspend, or remove access to protect members, investigate a report, prevent misuse, or meet legal obligations. Where safe and appropriate, we will tell the affected member the outcome or next step. We cannot promise a particular outcome, disclose another member’s private information, or guarantee that every interaction is safe.

Reporting and appeals

Use in-app report and block tools for concerning behaviour. Blocking stops contact immediately. Reports are reviewed privately. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, email Sanet with your account email and a concise explanation; we will reconsider it where appropriate, without compromising another person’s safety or privacy.

Privacy, records, and account deletion

The Privacy notice explains how we use information, including limited retention for safety, fraud prevention, payment records, and legal obligations. You may request account deletion in settings. Deletion requests hide your profile promptly and are handled privately.

Not professional advice

Common Ground is a dating community, not a counselling, medical, crisis, or emergency service. Questions about these terms, membership, or your account can be sent privately to Sanet.
